Clean is clean...isn't it?

There are many reasons why people choose to have their nails done by professionals. Perhaps it’s for enhancements (a.k.a. fake nails) because you can’t seem to grow long nails naturally. Maybe you need to have just.one.hour to relax and be taken care of. For some, the top priority is the massage, while others just want their nails shaped and polished. Whatever your reason, it is imperative that whomever is doing your nails be using disposable implements (files, buffers and cuticle pushers) and ones that are not disposable *must* be properly cleansed with soap and water and sanitized with a hospital grade sanitizer. Bypassing either of these steps will leave your skin vulnerable to infection and your nails open to harmful bacteria. Items should have come from a clean and dry container and once they are used, they should be put into the trash or a container for cleaning.

If you notice that one of these procedures is not being followed or have questions or concerns about the cleanliness of the implements being used on you, ask. It does not offend me if someone asks if an item has been sanitized. It is your right to know and my job as a Nail Technician to confirm.
