Nail Trends

Nail trends come and go.

People have been grooming their nails since before Queen Nefertiti used henna to dye her nails red. Nail care products have changed from oyster shell turned files to auto paint become nail polish. Fads come and go from long to short; simply buffed to bold designs and jewels and everywhere in between.

The latest trend from New York’s fashion week is simple and yet bold. Simple in that on a natural, short nail, with a clear base and a small amount of color or colors randomly placed on each nail in a geometric design.

Typically it takes time for the latest trends to make their way to the suburbs, but whatever your fancy, your nails are just that, yours. They reflect your style. Personally, I still like a long nail, but try different shapes. I have clients who love bright, bold colors and those who prefer a simple pink & white polish. Choose what suits you and your lifestyle, your hands are the first thing a person sees.

Whatever their shape or color, remember, nails are an accessory, not a tool…ahhh, but that’s a subject for another day.
