Communication is Key
Just because your licensed nail technician is a professional doesn’t mean that he or she knows how you want your nails done. Yes, there are absolutes; clean implements, quality product, and processes to ensure the best result. For the rest, it’s important to be specific in telling your tech what you want. If you’re in the midst of a service and see something you don’t like, be honest. If you thought you wanted a square shape, but as they take shape you want them more rounded on the edges, speak up. If you like a firm massage, but your tech is pushing a bit too hard, say something. If the color looked great in the bottle but not on your hand, ask for a change. Sometimes the results you are looking for require a process. The old adage ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ is true. Weak nails don’t strengthen over night; not all calluses can be smoothed with just one pedicure; enhancements aren’t one-size-fits-all, sometimes it takes a try or two to see which one works for you. In the end, talking with your tech can make all the difference. If you leave the shop unhappy with your service but your nail tech doesn’t know, they can’t make it right. I can’t speak for every nail technician, but for me, I want you to walk away feeling good about your service, and I want you to come back. Your honesty is important to me!
